Clinical Pilates
Build strength, stability, and control through guided movement tailored to your recovery, rehabilitation, and long-term wellness.
What is Clinical Pilates?
Clinical Pilates combines the hands-on expertise of a physiotherapist with a targeted system of exercises designed to support injury rehabilitation and overall movement health. With a focus on core strength, posture, movement control, and breath, this approach helps improve stability, mobility, and body awareness.
Sessions are one-on-one and fully customized to your needs, using a Pilates reformer or mat-based exercises. Clinical Pilates are physiotherapist led and may be claimed under extended health care plans that cover physiotherapy.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
During your first appointment, a physiotherapist trained in Clinical Pilates will discuss your injury or condition with you to learn more about your concerns and goals. An assessment will then be performed to investigate your movement patterns and determine your current level of mobility and strength. Based on this information, the physiotherapist will design a Pilates program incorporating exercises performed on the mat and reformer. This treatment will involve education on breathing, posture, and core activation. The therapist will also provide you with “homework” to help reinforce the exercises completed in clinic.
